How to Add Your UniLink to YouTube Channel
Why Add UniLink to YouTube
YouTube lets you add several links to your channel — they appear under your channel banner and in the About section. Instead of choosing between your shop, your other socials, or your newsletter, you can use one UniLink as the primary link and send subscribers to everything you want them to see.
This article walks you through adding your UniLink to your channel banner, About page, and individual video descriptions.
Step 1: Copy Your UniLink URL
Open your UniLink dashboard, click Share, and tap Copy link. Your URL will look like https://unil.ink/yourname.
Step 2: Add UniLink to Your Channel Banner
- Go to YouTube Studio.
- In the left sidebar click Customization.
- Open the Basic info tab.
- Scroll to Links and click Add link.
- Enter a link title (e.g. "All my links") and paste your UniLink URL.
- Check the box Show first link on banner so it appears under your channel art.
- Click Publish in the top-right corner.
Step 3: Add UniLink to Video Descriptions
One of the most effective spots for your UniLink is the first line of every video description — YouTube shows it above the fold next to the title.
- Open any video in YouTube Studio and click Details.
- At the top of the Description field, paste your UniLink URL with a short call-to-action like "Shop, free guide & more → unil.ink/yourname".
- Click Save.
For an even bigger lift, add a pinned comment with your UniLink — it stays at the top of the comment section.
Pro Tips
- Use a custom domain. Connecting your own domain (
links.yourbrand.com) builds more trust than a bare unil.ink URL. - Add UniLink to your channel trailer. Mention it on-screen and in the description so first-time viewers immediately have a path to your other content.
- Match top blocks to your latest video. If you just posted a tutorial, pin the matching product or playlist to the top of your UniLink.
- Track traffic by source. Use UniLink analytics to see how many YouTube viewers click through — and which videos drive the most.
Common Issues
- Banner link not showing? Make sure you checked Show first link on banner and clicked Publish. Changes can take a few minutes to appear.
- Description link not clickable? URLs in YouTube descriptions are clickable only if they include
https://. - Custom URL banned? Avoid putting your UniLink into your channel handle — handles only support letters, numbers, and dots. Use it in your About section instead.
